A very interesting project I found this morning — Synergy lets you share a single mouse and keyboard across multiple computers over the network.

If you’ve ever had two or three machines on your desk (say a Windows PC and a Mac), you know the pain of switching between keyboards. Synergy makes it seamless — just move your mouse to the edge of one screen and it jumps to the next computer. Copy-paste even works across machines.

The original open-source version was at http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/

The project has evolved over the years. There’s now a commercial version called Synergy, and an open-source fork called Barrier that’s worth checking out if you want a free alternative. If you work with multiple machines daily, this kind of tool is a real productivity boost.
