Is your Firefox starting to get realllllllly slow?

Every few months my Firefox starts dragging, so all I do is create a new profile and reimport all my bookmarks and reinstall needed addons. Over time, Firefox accumulates a ton of cached data, session history, and extension state that bogs everything down. You’ll notice it most when tabs take forever to switch or the address bar lags behind your typing.

Creating a fresh profile wipes all of that cruft and gets you back to a snappy browser. The downside is you lose saved passwords and extension configs, so export anything important first. Some people prefer just clearing the cache and disabling heavy extensions, but in my experience a clean profile is the fastest fix.
